Benaluru LS 2019 results are out. BJP has sweeped the Lok Sabha polls 2019 in Benglauru and also in Karnataka with 25 seats.

Bengaluru Central :

P.C.Mohan of BJP wins the seat again Rizwan Arshad of INC and Prakash Raj an Independent candidate from Benglauru Central. The Bengaluru Central segment was on the verge of slipping to Congress but swung in favour of BJP. This is P.C. Mohan’s hat-trick victory. It was a tough competition between Rizwan Arshad and P.C. Mohan.

P.C.Mohan – 601170 votes Won with a difference of 69974 votes

Rizwan Arshad – 531196 votes Lost with a difference of 69974 votes

Prakash Raj – 20073 votes

Bengaluru North :

Sadananda Gowda was often criticized by the oppostion for his ‘ppr’ performance and teased for his smiling face. Gowda effortlessly registered a resounding victory over his rival.

Sadananda Gowda of BJP sweeped against Krishna Byre Gowda who represented JD(S) from Bengaluru North.

Sadananda Gowda – 812915 votes won with a difference of 144743 votes

Krishna Byre Gowda – 668172 votes lost with a difference of 144743 votes

Bengaluru South :

Bengaluru South is a strong BJP bastion where Late Ananth Kumar won 6 times continuously. It was an astounding easy win for Tejasvi Surya of BJP in his maiden election against B.K.Hariprasad of INC from Benglauru South which was Late Ananth Kumar’s domain.

B.K.Hariprasad had lost the election 20 years ago in the same constituency. He was hoping of getting the seat from BJP.

Tejasvi Surya – 704243 votes won with a difference of 352228 votes

B.Hari Prasad – 352015 Votes lost with a difference of 352228 votes

Bengaluru Rural :

It was once again D.K.Suresh of INC from Benglauru Rural against Ashwath Narayan of BJP.

0D.K.Suresh’s accessibility by the public played a significant role in his victory.

D.K.Suresh – 877441 votes won with a difference of 207470 votes

Ashwath Narayan – 669971 votes lost with a difference of 207470 votes

Bengluru Candidates list from the major parties for the State of Karnataka are almost final. The three major parties who are fighting in the State of Karnataka are BJP, Congress and JD(S). Bengaluru North :

Bengaluru North Lok Sabha constituency  is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the  Karnataka.  This constituency has been known by different names in its history.

From 1951 and every election since 1977 it has been known as Bangalore North. For the 1957 and 1962 elections it was known as Bangalore City. For the 1967 and 1971 elections it formed a constituency jointly with Bengaluru South  and was known as Bengaluru.  

From 1951–73, this constituency resided in Mysuru State. On 1 November 1973 Mysore State was renamed as Karnataka. Bengaluru North held its first elections in 1951 and its first member of parliament (MP) was Keshava Iyengar of the Indian National Congress.

Sadananda Gowda :

Devaragunda Venkappa Sadananda Gowda (born 18 March 1953) was the 20thcChief Minister of Karnataka and is currently the Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation in the Government of India. He previously served as Minister of Law and Justice shifted from the Ministry of Railways in the cabinet reshuffle of 5 July 2016. 

He is a sitting MP from Bengaluru North.

Krishna Byre Gowda :

Krishna Byre Gowda (born 4 April 1973)  was born in Bengaluru to C. Byre Gowda and Savithramma.

He is the current Minister  of Rural Development, Law and Parliamentary Affairs in the cabinet of Coalition government  and Member of Legislative Assembly of the Byatarayanapura Constituency, in office since June 2008.

Education :

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Christ College, now known as Christ University in Bengaluru 1994. He then graduated with a master’s degree (M.A) from the School of International Service at American University Washington D.C.in 1999.  

Political career :

He has  served three times as an M.L.A. of Karnataka state, twice from Vemegal in Kolar district from 2003 to 2007, and from 2008 to 2013 from the Byatarayanapura Constituency in Bengaluru.

Krishna has  served as the President of the Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress between 2007 and 2011, and is currently holds the office of General Secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, since 2012.

 Bengaluru South :

Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 28 Lok Sabha (Parliamentary) constituencies in  Karnataka  State.  Currently the seat is vacant since 12 November 2018 due to the untimely passing away of MP Ananth Kumar.

B.K.Hari Prasad :

B.K. Hariprasad is a politician from the INC party. He is a Member of Parliament representing Karnataka in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house, of the Indian Paliament. He was the candidate of United Opposition for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and lost to Shri Harivansh Narayan Singh of NDA.

 Vatal Nagaraj :

He is a political figure named after the town he was born in,.  He is the Ex MLA of Chamarajnagar constituency. Nagaraj is the president of a pro-Kannada outfit Kannada Chalavali Paksha.

In 1964 he led a two-month agitation demanding the destruction of a 150-year-old British Raj era cenotaph pillar marking the deaths of soldiers at the Siege of Siege of Bangalore in 1791. In October of that year the cenotaph was dismantled by the Bangalore City Corporation and a statue to Kempe Gowda now stands in its place. In 2018 he started a new agitation in January 25 for water sharing from MAHADAYI river flowing from Goa.  Some political critiques question the authenticity of Vatal’s fight against Goa State for water sharing when he himself fight against Tamil Nadu government for Supreme court order to release water in Cauvery river.

Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency  is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka. This constituency was created in 2008 as part of delimitation  It was carved out of the Bengaluru  North and South Lok Sabha constituencies during 2009 Indian elections. It first held elections in 2009 and its first member of parliament (MP) was P.C.Mohan.

He won the election with the halfway margin for the first time as the President of KPYCC and again He won the consecutive time by a very huge margin.

He got ticket to contest for Lok Sabha  elections from Bengaluru central constituency from INC. However he lost to BJP candidate PC Mohan.

Prakash Raj/Rai :

Prakash Raj was born in Bengaluru (then known as Mysuru state) on 26 March 1965 in a lower-middle-class family.

Prakash Raj (born Prakash Rai; 26 March 1965) is a multilingual film actor,  film director, producer, thespian and television presenter who is known for his works in the South Indian Film Industry and Hindi films.  He acted in back-to-back stage shows for Rs.300 a month in the initial stages of his career, when he joined Kalakshetra, Bengaluru  and he has 2,000 street theatre performances to his credit. 

Education :   He completed schooling at St. Joseph’s Boys HighSchool, Bengaluru and joined ST. Joseph’s College of Commerce, Bengaluru.  Prakash Rai changed his surname to Raj based on prominent Tamil film director K.Balachander’s advice.  He is still called Prakash Rai in his home state Karnataka.

Bengaluru  Rural Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 28 Lok Sabha (lower house of the Indian parliament) constituencies in  Karnataka.  This constituency was created in 2008 following the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies. It comprises eight assembly segments of which seven are derived from the former Kanakapura Lok Sabha Constituency  (abolished in 2008).  It first held elections in 2009 and its first member of parliament (MP) was H.D.Kumaraswamy of the Janata Dal (Secular) party. Shamnur Shiva Shankarappa :

Shamanur Shivashankarappa  Born: 16 June 1931 is a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Davanagere, South Assembly Constituency.  A veteran Congressman, he has been the Treasurer of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee for last three decades and he is also the president of All India Veerashaiva Mahasabha, the apex body of Veerashaivas.

He is the Chairman of Bapuji Educational Association which owns a chain of educational institutions  including Bapuji Institute of Engineering  & Tehcnology and many professional institutions of higher education.He is a well known educationalist and industrialist and owns a group of industries known as Shamanur Group with sugar and Distillaries as prime business

V. S. Ugrappa is currently serving as member of Parliament from Bellary Constituency in Karnataka.. A member of the Indian National Congress,  he was elected in a bypoll in November 2018. He defeated the BJP candidate J.Shantha by 2.1 lakh votes.

Ugrappa was previously a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council

He is an advocate by profession.

C.H.Vijaya Shankar :

C. H. Vijayashankar (born 21 October 1956) was a member of the 14th Lok Ssabha. He represented the Mysuru constituency and was a member of the BJP. He was elected member of Karnataka legislative assembly from Hunsur in 1994. In 1998, he was elected to the 12th Lok Sabha from Mysuru Lok Sabha Constituency.

He was re-elected to Mysuru Lok Sabha constituency in 2004 against Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar,  who was the prince of  Mysuru Kingdom and head of the Wadiyar dynasty that ruled the Kingdom of Mysuru between  1399 and 1950.

He served as a Cabinet Minister in the Government of Karnataka holding portfolios: Forest Department from. Forest, Ecology & Environment Department as well as small Scale Industries from C & I Department.

He unsuccessfully contested for 2014 Lok Sabha Elections from Hassan constituency  in 2014 as a BJP candidate against Former Prime Minister H.D.Deve Gowda.

He was the Member of Legislative Council of Karnataka  from 15 June 2010 till the end of his tenure in Jan 2016.

He resigned BJP and joined INC in October 2017.
