Harshita Tomar bags bronze at Jakarta in open laser 4.7 sailing

Harshita Tomar, a sailor from Madhya Pradesh Sports department made the State proud by winning the best sailor award in the country in 2017.

Harshita has been a consistent performer for a past couple of years.  Hailing from Hoshangabad, she has won a gold medal in the 4.7 events of an International Sailing championship in Dubai.

India’s young sailor Harshita Tomar who is 16 years old is a former swimmer. She claimed a bronze in the open laser 4.7 at the Asian games.  She totaled 62 after race 12 to finish 3rd.

Harishita said ‘it was a great feeling to win a medal for the country.  It has been a great learning experience’.
